Anusara Yoga founder John Friend headed to Twin Cities
6 DecJohn Friend, founder of Anusara yoga, will be teaching a series of workshops this weekend at the St. Paul RiverCenter.
He founded the yoga style in 1997 — a type of hatha yoga that has since spread to 70 countries around the world.
“My students who have taken John Friend workshops have referred to it as a peak life experience,” said Ronna Rochell of BodyWisdom Yoga and one of four Anusara yoga teachers in the state. “John is a huge name in the international yoga world because what he teaches has transformed how people understand and live their yoga practice both on and off the mat.”

New yoga studio opening in NE Mpls
27 OctYoga Garden, a new studio in Northeast, is having an open house on Nov. 12, 7–9 p.m. Beer and wine will be served.

Chocolate BonaVita
, a venture started by Anna and Massimo Bonativa devoted to their passion for chocolate, is offering new yoga and Thai Chi classes paired with chocolate tastings at the Cowles Center in downtown Minneapolis. Classes start Nov. 1 and will be free for the first week.
Classes will be held noon and evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on Saturday mornings.
